I have data in rows, with column A as date, and other information upto column S.
Each row has different date, and data is built day by day.

I would like to have all those rows coloured say "yellow" if their dates are less than today,
i.e.
A1
I used conditional formatting in one row with formula IF A1it worked in excel2003, but same formula does not work in excel2007.

I had formatted one row and then "format painted" entire worksheet in excel2003 and it was working!
Please help

You have to use an absolute column reference to color the entire row based on the date in column A
 
=$A1 
I guess that you miss the '$' sign before the column reference in your formula.
