[Anwsered] Cannot Access Certain Websites

Cannot Access Certain Websites

Recently I haven't been able to access one website/forum (hobbykings.com).
Everytime I try to access it, it just gives me the 'Server not found' message, the one that you get when trying to access a browser without an internet connection.

I know for a fact that the website is working fine, as 3 other people have told me they had no problems getting onto the site.
I also know there isn't anything wrong with my account as I emailed an admin.
The last time I was able to access the site was Wednesday
morning, using a laptop with Windows XP.
Later that day, I bought a new laptop with Windows 7, and haven't been able to go on the site ever since.
The funny thing is, I thought perhaps it was the firewall settings on my new Windows 7..so I decided to try my
old XP laptop, and I couldn't get on from the XP anymore either.
So I highly doubt it has anything to do with my firewall as I didn't change the firewall settings on my XP.
I tried using different browsers (IE and Firefox), and neither is working.
I've never
had or seen this problem before so I'm really stumped.

If anyone knows what might be the problem, please let me know.

This really strikes me as a DNS issue.
Let's try setting a static DNS server and see if that takes care of it:

1.
Click on Start, choose Run, type in ncpa.cpl and press Enter to open
Network connections window.
2.
In the Network Connections window right click on
Local Area Connection and then select properties.
3.
Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then the Properties button in Local Area Connection Properties.
4.
Choose Use the following DNS server addresses: and type in 4.2.2.1 for your Primary DNS (you can leave the Alternate DNS blank).
5.
Choose OK/Close to the windows and test Internet Explorer

Run CHKDSK to Fix Cannot Access Certain Websites

Go to the Start button.
In the Search box, type "cmd" (without quotes) and press Enter.
At the command prompt, type "chkdsk /r /f" (without quotes) and press Enter.
Reboot your computer.

An error might pop up:

"Access denied as you do not have significant privileges. You have to invoke this utility in elevated mode."

If you receive the above error message, it means you are not logged into you computer as an Administrator. If that's the case, follow these steps to run the command prompt in elevated mode:

Go to theStart button.
Go to "All Programs > Accessories" and right click on "Command Prompt".
Select "Run as Administrator".
In the Search box, type "cmd" (without quotes) and press Enter.
At the command prompt, type "chkdsk /r /f" (without quotes) and press Enter.
Reboot your computer.
