Troubleshoot:Backup code error 0x810000ff

Backup code error 0x810000ff

I am unable to perform a backup of my laptop using windows backup.
I have windows 7 32 bit.
I was able to run a backup with windows 7 a few weeks ago to an external hard drive, but I now get the code error of 0x810000ff.
I have read the other post on the
same topic but it did not work for me.
I am running windows security and I get the message error at the start of the backup process.
Any suggestions?
