Solution to Problem: Authentication issues with IE6

Authentication issues with IE6

We use NT authentication (KERBEROS/SPNEGO) in our pricing application PULSE.
Ideally the browser should pass on the NT credentials to the server and server should authenticate the credentials against the AD and authenticate the user.

If the below conditions are met, the user should NOT be prompted for the NT credentials while entering the application url

 i) Browser has a "Automatic logon" option for the intranet site and the site has been added as an intranet site.
ii) "Enable Integrated Windows Authentication" options is enabled.

Even when the above options are enabled, the users get 2-3 prompts to enter the NT credentials.
This is more prevelant with the users who belong to different domains.

How can we trubleshoot and resolve the repeated prompting? Could you help us in this regard?

Steps already tried:
Adding the application url as a trusted site
