The error “0x80070001 ERROR_INVALID_FUNCTION” is usually the result of an error caused by something interfering during the transmission of data.
This can have many causes, but the most common one can be another program or process that is running and causing the problem.

I would suggest you check for the issue in a clean boot state where all other programs and services except Microsoft are disabled.

a.       Click Start, type “msconfig.exe” (without quotes) in the Start Search box, and then press Enter to start the System Configuration Utility.
b.      On the General tab, click Selective Startup, and then click to clear the Load startup items check box.
c.       On the Services tab, click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.
Click OK, and then click Restart.
Try backup now.

Note: Make sure you put the computer back to Normal Startup once you are done.

Boot in Safe Mode:

Open Run command as previously described
Type MSConfig
Click on Boot tab
Tick Safe boot in Boot option
Select Network
Click Apply and OK
Reboot your system

Your system will boot in Safe mode with Networking. You may now try and open Windows Store and should not see any errors.
