BAD_POOL_HEADER error in Windows 8 [Solved]

BAD_POOL_HEADER error in Windows 8

Hi,
Recently I did a fresh install of windows 8 after running into a problem (unrelated) but before I did I saved a few things I wanted to keep onto an external hard drive, one of which was my Fonts folder as I had loads of custom fonts in there.
Last night I attempted to reinstall these fonts by first moving them from my external hard drive onto my desktop, and then by simply dropping the fonts folder into the Windows folder on drive C:, as expected a message flashed up telling me  there were x
amount of fonts with the same name, and asked if I'd like to replace them or skip these items.
I chose to replace them, in hindsight maybe I should have chosen to skip them.
Because now when I double click to go into my fonts folder, I get the blue screen with the BAD_POOL_HEADER message and my laptop reboots.
It's fine otherwise, it's just when I click to go into the fonts folder.
So the next thing I tried (maybe foolishly) was to delete the fonts folder, with my plan being to replace it with the one from my external hard drive.
However something called TrustedInstaller wouldn't let me completely delete it, although it did supposedly
dispose of 2,067 files.
Hoping this had solved the problem, I double clicked to go into the fonts folder and low & behold, I still have the blue screen issue.....
Any ideas? All feedback appreciated.
:)
