"Delete Volume" greyed out. What can I do to remove the partition?

Hi everyone,
I have a fairly old laptop and finally the How to Fix - THE MACRO MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE IN THIS WORK BOOK OR ALL MACROS MAY BE DISABLED.? 37Gb C: drive is full and I would like to remove the partition between it and the 35Gb D: drive Solution to Error: Windows reports less memory than what is so I can use the whole Date calculation disk.
However when I go to Disk Management the "Delete Volume" is greyed out, only "Shrink Volume"
is available and it quotes only 2031MB.
I have moved all my files from the D: drive to my external drive and created backs-ups, system images etc.
The only thing left on the D: drive is 4.71Gb of "eula", "LocalizedData" and "SetupResources.dll" system files.
Would these be blocking the PC start up problems "Delete
Volume" if so what can I do?
Running Win 7 professional, 64bit.

Do you have an actual MS win7 cd or only that laptop makers recovery disk set?
